After many years as an amateur, Craig Jenkins began pursuing his art with a full-time passion in 2000. Since moving to the fresh air and awesome scenery of Utah, Jenkins has been enthusiastically painting the Utah landscape and working on his latest project: his “Mother Earth” series involving painting nudes with nature patterns. Jenkins’ paintings express feminine spirituality as seen in nature. Jenkins paints the female form, representing Mother Earth, into landscapes. He paints with both oils and acrylics on canvas from his black and white photographs of models and desert scenes. The bodies, which are presented in a subtle and somewhat abstract manner, blend into the landscape or form integral features of the landscape. Jenkins hopes to express in his paintings the Oneness of nature and soul.

Craig was an inspiration, admired by many. He lived fully while he also contended with cancer for over three years, facing his disease with grace and mindfulness. A successful painter and photographer, Craig used his creativity to help deal with his cancer. He completed a series entitled Impermanence, A Cancer Journey which will be shown at the Spotted Frog in Park City and at the Finch Lane Gallery in Salt Lake City.
Craig left a legacy of philanthropy, including a Cancer Support Group he started at Huntsman Cancer Center, a continuing Meditation Group for Healing that he began at Park City Yoga, and a Charitable Trust that will benefit international causes. Proceeds from Craig's artwork and estate will be donated to the Craig Jenkins Charitable Trust, which Craig set up to directly aid various foundations for third-world nations.
Craig traveled the world living a life of great adventure: in death he embarks upon his next significant journey, and this world will miss him.
