Artist Gina Jrel is a contemporary, stylized painter. Inspired by Picasso, Modigliani, Klimt, and the Art
Nouveau movement, Gina's unusual painting style is a whimsical, colorful combination of geometric abstraction, and spontaneous gesture painting.
By way of her unusual painting style, Jrel strives to push beyond the realism which the eye sees; an artistic quest for individuality. She strives to paint - not what she sees - but the feelings she gets from what she sees.
A painter for 28 years, Jrel earned her B.F.A. in illustration and design from the Kansas City Art Institute.
She has claimed many awards and titles with her work (but regards that with little importance). Her work has been displayed in Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, St. George, Kayenta, Springdale, Cedar City, and at the National Stationery Show in New York City. Her murals and paintings accent walls and ceilings throughout the southwestern United States. Her artwork has been licensed for use by corporations throughout the country. She is honored to have her fine art a part of many private collections worldwide.
