Born in Spokane, Washington, and the second of 8 children, art education was not affordable or practical for Diane. She earned a degree in Business, while dabbling in oils.

Diane began painting at the age of 12 when an uncle, who lost his eyesight, gave her his box of oil paints. The solitude of pushing oil paint around on canvas became her most favorite past time. She soon began to sell her artwork.

A break of 15 years to raise children, gave her a fresh new passion to begin painting again once the children were older.  Diane now lives in Park City Utah where she paints full time.
